The Razor Backs

It was a very bright day when a voice was heard. “Man I hate the light it hurts my eyes." he said.

"Ah quit your complaining." a woman said.

"I still can’t believe I am doing this. I swore about 100 years ago that I would never serve the military and what am I about to do join the god damn military."

"Mike just shut up and deal with it ok." the woman said.

"Huh, that’s easy for you to say, you may not be as different as me but you’re still going to get glares and bad looks and what-not. All i hope is that they don’t find out about my past or what i am." mike told her. Mike was an average sized human who has a very dark past and a big secret that he would rather not tell anyone. He is a schizophrenic, which means that he has what he calls "others" living in his head. Each one can give him a different power, what Velo does is he turns Mikes eyes completely black and makes him immune to all damage, now even when Velo isn’t in control of Mike his power still makes him immortal, its just he can be hurt but cant die. Z is another one of Mikes others when he takes control of mike his power makes mikes eyes turn brown, and Z lets mike become as strong as he needs to be. Ice turns his eyes blue and lets him make and control ice. Amber turns his eyes green and lets him regenerate flesh and bone at an accelerated rate. Lastly Scorch, when he takes control he makes mike immune to any kind of poison, bacteria or germ, basically mike can not get sick, he also allows mike to controll any kind of disease.

"Yes I know but nonetheless we must help the UNSC against the covenant, if not then we shall soon be fighting anyways." she stated.

“I forgot about that, the people of axia are very peaceful they wouldn’t fight to save their lives.”

“Yea so we are going to go join up now or later?”

“Lets get to that prowler that’s docked then we will figure it out from there.”

“Ok let’s go now and get it over with. They should be taking recruits onboard now.”

They walked through the town to the small military base located on the outskirts of town. They walked to the small gate where there was a small line. They took their place behind a rather large muscular man; mike was right behind the large man. Someone shoved mike from the side and made him bump into the large man.

“What’s your problem short-stack? What did you do that for?” He said to mike.

“Nothing except for the big brute who looks like he wants to fight me. You look rather stupid have you been in a retarded school before?” mike told him.

“Boy watch your tongue I may not be that smart but i sure am stronger than you.”

“Oh so that means you have been in a retard school then, hm well I figured as much seeing as you can’t tell how powerful I am.”

“Oh well just see about that.” He said.

He quickly pulled his fist back as if to punch mike. Mikes eyes turned completely brown the whites and all. His hand and the fist collided and he pulled. There was a sickly pop as the mans arm was ripped out of its socket. He howled in pain and grabbed his shoulder.

“What the hell are you?” he asked mike through gritted teeth.

“I am VERY complicated.” Mike told him.

Mike ran forward and grabbed his other arm and heaved him over his shoulder into the ground making a small crater in the ground. Mikes eyes turned back to red.

“Don’t underestimate your opponent.” Mike told him.

The man didn’t respond. “Mike I think you knocked him out.” The woman said to mike.

“I think your right Sakuya.” Mike told her.

“You two come here. The captain wants to see you.” A ghastly voice said.

They walked over to a soldier that looked like he had been shot by direct plasma bombardment and died. his entire left side of his face was white as paper.

"What the hell happened to you?" Mike asked him.

"..." was his response.

"Ok then, don’t tell me." Mike said.

"If i told you, you wouldn’t believe me."

"Oh really, why don’t you try me then."

"hmm, you’ll find out what i am sooner or later if the captain doesn’t tell you."

"Ok then." they continued to walk.

They reached a small door on the side of the Prowler; the man walked up to it and pressed a button. A door that wasn’t there before appeared and opened for them to enter. The man walked in and told them to follow.

"Hey man i just hafta know whats you’re name?" Mike asked.

"My name is Jermey." Jermey said.

"Ok thanks."

They took a small elevator to a big room. When Mike and Sakuya walked out of it they walked in front of Jermey, they turned around to ask him where they where, and he was gone.

"What the hell? Where'd he go?" Mike said.

Sakuya just shrugged.

"Oh well, now where are we?"

Just then the door opened and a woman walked in, she looked up from her notes and was shocked to see the two intruders.

"What are you doing here? Who gave you authorization to be in the captain’s quarters?" she asked.

"Oh we where led here by Jermey." Mike said.

"Wait, wait, wait, you said Jermey right?"

"Yes that’s what i said, why?"

"That’s the ghost of the last captain of this vessel."

Mike and Sakuya just stood there with blank expressions on their faces.

"So why are you here? It must be of great importance if Jermey had to use his secret pathway to get you here. My name is Seres in case you’re wondering." Seres said.

"Well me and Sakuya would like to join the marines to help stop the covenant. Trust me when i say that we will be a great help to your cause."

"Oh and what makes you think you are better than the other people who are fighting in this war, who actually have skill with weapons."

"Oh hell no, you don’t think that Im good with a gun?"

"You look like your twenty and thus have never held a rifle."

"I will have you know that i am exactly five-hundred and sixty-five years old and i have used a sniper rifle all my life."

"I highly doubt that you are that old."

"Is there a way to check my age?"

"I could pull your birth certificate and check that."

"Well then do it."

"This is going to be a waste of my time."

Seres walked over to her computer and typed a couple of words, a minute passed and then out of nowhere she yelled, "NO FUCKING WAY!"

"I told you i'm that old, but you just didn’t listen." Mike said.

Seres looked at Sakuya and asked, "How old are you?"

"Im not telling you that you will have to wait to find that out, because ive made Mike wait for one hundred and twenty years after we met and i still haven't told him my age." Sakuya told her in a matter-of-factly tone.

"Ok then, but how are you better than all the others on this ship, Mike?" Seres asked Mike.

"This is another you wouldn’t believe me if i told you, so i have to show you."

"Ok how are you going to show me?"

"Don't panic, ok?" Mike said to her.

"Ok i wont."

Mike reached into his overcoat and pulled out his custom-built one-hundred-twenty-five-calibur sniper rifle. Seres jump a little at the sight of such a large rifle. Mikes eyes turned solid black and he aimed at his left leg, which he propped up onto a couch, he sighted down the scope, aimed, and fired. The round flew out of the chamber and impacted on his left calf; the bullet crumpled and fell to the floor.

Seres fainted.

"Oh well that went better than i expected." Mike said to Sakuya as his eyes reverted back to red.

"Yea your right i expected her to try to get you arrested and used for genetic experiments."

"I thought the same thing."

"Well we are deeply in love and we do think a like."

"Good point." Mike walked over to her and kissed her deeply.

At that precise time Seres woke up and looked at them. "Should i leave." she said.

"No your fine." Sakuya said after breaking the kiss. Mike looked slightly disappointed.

"Well after all that i think you both will fit in with the most dangerous squad that we have in the UNSC."

"Oh and what squad is that?" Mike asked her.

"The Razor Backs." Seres told them.

"Oh and what makes them worthy of my company?" Mike asked her.

"Well they have all killed about ten-thousand elites all together." Seres said proudly.

"Ok then lead me to them."

"What about you, will you be joining them too?" Seres asked Sakuya.

"Of course i will never abandon Mike, even if it kills me." She said.

"And i wouldn’t have it any other way." Mike said to her.

They kissed for a whole minute, and then they remembered that Seres was going to show them to the squad. They broke the kiss and waited for her to lead the way.

Seres went to a comm. and pressed a button that had a couple of razors on it. There was static and then someone said, "Yes my love?"

"Tim shut-up your new squad-mates are here and i require you to take them to your squad room." Seres said into the small speaker.

"In order to have me fight on your side i want my own room by myself, with no video-surveillance, and no way for others to see into the room, and it must have a lock on the door." Mike said to Seres.

"Why though?" She said to him.

"I have my own reasons; you just worry about finding me a room." He responded.

"Alright it will be done, Tim get your ass up here now." She said to Mike and the Speaker.

just then there was a knock on the door. Seres opened it to reveal a rather tall man with what looked like a machine-gun slung on his right shoulder.

"Tim reporting as ordered my sweet." He said to Seres.

Seres slapped Tim across the side of his face. "Don’t say stuff like that, do you want to get court-martialed?" she asked him.

"Well no, not really." He responded.

"Don't worry we wont tell a soul." Sakuya said.

"Really?" Tim said to her.

"Absolutely." Sakuya assured him.

"Thank you so much, now about that room do you want to sleep in the same room or different ones?" Seres asked them.

"Same room." they both replied. "But we don’t want to meet the squad right now; we need some sleep, its dark outside."

"When will the ship be ready to leave?" Mike asked Seres.

She looked at her datapad. "Not until tomorrow."

"Good we want to get settled in now." Sakuya said.

"Tim lead them to their rooms." Seres said to Tim.

"Yes dear." he walked over and kissed Seres on the cheek. "Follow me." And he walked out of the room.

Mike and Sakuya said goodbye to Seres and followed Tim.

Tim led them through a large hall that had a large amount of men and women in it all of them glanced at Mike and glared at Sakuya.

"Sakuya i think it would be best if you melded with my shadow." Mike whispered to her.

"Okay then." and she disappeared into Mike’s shadow. There where many gasps as she disappeared.

Tim led them past the large crowd and into a small corridor and led them to a rather spacious room.

"This is where you will be sleeping for your stay on board." He handed Mike a small comm. "Just press that button and you can talk to me wherever i am about anything on this ship."

Mike nodded that he understood, and with that Tim left the room.

"This is a good room, i like it, and it has separate beds." Sakuya said while separating from Mike’s shadow.

"Sadly." Mike whispered.

"What was that?" Sakuya asked.

"Nothing, nothing."

"Yea right nothing." and she went into the bathroom. Mike heard the shower come on. Mike took off his coat and put it on a coat-hook on the wall, and he went and laid down on one of the beds.

Tim was walking back to the razor backs room when he thought, "What makes them so special that they can just join my squad, which is the MOST dangerous squad that has ever walked the galaxy. I must tell Flame and Joker about this." He walked up to a door that said 'Razor Backs Only.' and in sub-script it also said 'No Cowards Allowed.'. "I always loved that sign." Tim thought.

He scanned his hand and entered. "Whats up Flame, you cleaning your shotgun again?" Tim asked to a man who was about a head shorter than him.

"Yea, have to make sure nothings in the barrel." Flame said to Tim.

"Well I’ve got some bad news for you and Joker. By the way where is Joker?"

"Hes making some more explosives."

"That’s all he does nowadays, make bombs. Anyways we have some new recruits joining our little squad here."

"Oh really?" Flame sounded sad.

"Yea, but if Captain Seres thinks they can fit in then I think they will last longer than the others did." Tim sounded reassuring.

"I hope your right about that." Flame said

"Right about what?" Joker walked out of a room covered in gunpowder, Joker was taller than Tim and had long hair that went down to his shoulders.

"We have some new recruits joining our squad." Flame said to Joker.

"Oh no that’s not good this will seriously cut into my bomb time. SON OF A BITCH!!!" Joker sounded a little depressed.

"Oh you'll be fine Joker, just ignore them I’ll deal with them." Flame got up and headed words the door.

"Hey Flame they don’t want to deal with us today they'll do it tomorrow." Tim said to Flame.

"Really they think that they can just postpone meeting the most dangerous men in all mankind?" Flame sounded a little pissed.

"Yea, but captain’s orders, so we have to wait, and besides we aren’t leaving until tomorrow." Tim said.

"Well then I think I shall get some sleep to prepare myself for them tomorrow." Flame said.

"Im going to bed to, you coming too Joker?" Tim said.

"No you go ahead I think Im going to prepare a little hazing item for the newbie’s, just need to get some thermite for my reaction to happen." Joker said a mad gleam in his eye.

"Good luck with that." Flame said to Joker.

Tim and Flame left and walked to a different room and went to their respective bunks, and fell asleep. They left Joker to his plotting.

Sakuya walked out of the bathroom and looked at Mike laying there on that bed and she said, "You know I sill can't get over the fact that you have dragon wings." And as she said this she gently played with the tip of one of mikes wings.

One of Mikes others had such an effect on him that he grew green dragon wings that where hidden from public view by his overcoat, it could hold and hide anything you put into it. It even had a small room where people could hide inside.

"I love it when you play with one of my wings." After Mike said this she stopped and kissed him on his lips for a full minute.

She broke the kiss to say, "Time for bed." and she went to the other bed and jumped in leaving Mike on the other bed, slightly disappointed.

"Good-night, my love." Mike said to Sakuya.

"Sweet dreams, Mike." was Sakuya's reply.

They both fell into a deep sleep.

It was morning when Mike woke. He looked at the other bed to see Sakuya still sleeping. He looked at the clock on the side of his bed, it read 6:30. "I always woke early, all my life." He said to no one in particular.

("Well it' about time you woke up lazy bones." Velo said to Mike in his mind.)

("Oh what do you want now?" Mike thought to him.)

("Nothing really just wanted to make sure your ready for some hazing.")

("Ah, that’s funny because i already know about the hazing i was going to let Ice take care of that for me.")

("Thanks Mike." Ice yelled.)

("No problem dude." Mike replied to Ice.)

("Whatever. Im going to go train." and with that Velo left to the training room in Mike's head.)

("Hey Scorch." Mike said.)

("Yea what?" Scorch replied.)

("Don't over indulge them in any kind of germs, okay?" Mike said)

("Awwww but i wanna try a new one that i created." Scorch sounded disappointed)

("No, no, no, not today at least or actually just don't do it at all, no poisoning the new squad that me and Sakuya are joining.")

("Oh, fine i wont try anything." Scorch sounded a little mad.)

("Good, now to other matters.")

Sakuya turned over to see that Mike was already awake. "Good morning." She said to him.

"Good morning, to you too." Mike got out of bed and hugged her. She returned the hug and gave him a kiss too. They broke the hug and kiss and Mike put on his overcoat, to hide his wings.

"Lets go meet our new squad that we are going to join." Mike said.

Mike grabbed his comm. that Tim gave him and clicked it on. "Hey Tim we are ready to meet your squad now." Mike said into the little device.

"Right i will be there in about five minutes." Tim said.

Mike got ready to go, "Hey Sakuya so you want your overcoat too?" Mike asked her.

"Ummm, sure, hand it here." She stuck out her arm.

Mike reached into his overcoat and pulled out a bright pink overcoat and handed it to Sakuya, she took it and put it on.

"Pink seems to be your color, while mine is green." Mike said to her.

There was a knock at the door as it opened, and Tim walked in. "If you would just follow me, i shall take you to the squad." and Tim left the room, Mike and Sakuya followed. They walked through many corridors and finally arrived at their destination, the door that would lead them to their new squad. Tim opened the door and walked in.

Mike suspected something was going to happen and his eyes turned half blue and half brown. He walked through the door first and Joker grabbed him from behind and tried to throw him into a vat of molten metal. He got Mike close to the molten mess when Mike used Ice's power and froze the molten mass into a solid icy block. Joker put him down and took a step back.

"How the hell did you do that?" He asked Mike.

"What? i froze some metal big deal I’ve been doing that for about five-hundred years. I could make my body temperature down to absolute zero." Mike said to Joker, Tim, and Flame.

"I find that very hard to believe." Flame said.

"And whats your names then?" Mike asked Flame and Joker.

"I'm Joker the master of demolitions." Joker said to Mike and Sakuya.

"My name is Flame and I am master of close range combat." Flame said.

"And what are you master of Tim?" Sakuya asked Tim.

"Tim is master of failing horribly." Joker said.

"I AM NOT! I happen to be master of machine type weapons; if it shoots fast then i'm good with it." Tim said.

"Well, whats your name." Flame asked Mike.

"My name is Mike, and i'm master of long range combat, VERY long range combat, and I am also immortal." Mike said.

"Right you think that i would think your immortall?" Flame said in a disrespectfull tone.

Mike sighed, "Geuss i will have to show you then." Mike pulled out his sniper rifle out of his coat.

"Holy shit, what calibur is that?" Tim asked Mike.

"It is exatly one-hundred-twenty-five calibur." Mike said proudly. Mike pointed the end of the barrel in his mouth and fired. The bullet hit the roof of his mouth and flew out the back of his head. He fell limp on the ground, and then he stood up.

"Now any questions?" Mike said, his eyes turning green. Then all the others, except for Sakuya she had seen him do this multiple times, where shocked as the exit wound closed and healed in a matter of seconds. Then his eyes reverted back to red.

Tim raised his hand.

"Yes Tim." Mike pointed at him.

"I was wondering, how is it you didn't die when that bullet hit your brain." Tim said.

"One of my others makes it to where I cannot die from stuff like that, if said other is in controll I am immune to any kind of harm both me and my clothes."

"Intresting." Flame said.

"What is?" Mike asked him.

"The fact that you chose to join our cause. What are you then?" He said to Sakuya.

"Me, I am a vampire that can walk in the light and not die. I can also shadowmeld; I can use your shadow to move between this world and the shadow world." She said to him.

"Alrighty then, i just don’t want you to meld with my shadow, alright?" Flame said to Sakuya.

"Oh fine, i didn't want to meld with your shadow anyways." She said, crossing her arms.

"Now about what we do. We get the worst missions of this war, blowing stuff up, assassinations, and missions with low survival ratings, but we mostly get support missions where we have to go help other squads." Flame said to Mike and Sakuya.

"I love the missions when we have to blow stuff up." Joker said.

"Of course you do Joker." Tim said.

Joker grinned.

"That wont be a problem with me and Sakuya, because we both cannot die." Mike said to Flame.

"Oh yea then you should do just fine with us then." Flame said.

"Now to our mission that we just got assigned to." Flame started to say, just as he finished his sentence there was a loud blaring alarm.

"What's going on now?" Sakuya asked Flame.

"That alarm means that there is an enemy vessel approaching us." Flame told them.

"Sounds like fun for me." Mike said.

"And just how are you going to get to the ship?" Tim asked him.

"Lances of ice." Mike replied.

"Meaning?" Tim asked.

Mikes eyes turned blue and he moved his arm out from his body and a giant lance of ice shot from it, hitting a wall. Mike then used it to pull himself to the wall. "Like that." he said to Tim.

"This isn’t good one bit." Flame said while looking at a datapad.

"Whats wrong?" Mike asked him.

"Well a couple of years ago the UNSC built one and only one super-destroyer, they named it 'Devastator' and planned to use it to turn the tide of space battles with the covenant. Well it was in a space dock with about one-hundred guards, Rebel forces came that night and took it for their own, we haven’t heard about it since. It appears that the enemy ship is Devastator." Flame told them.

"What kind of weapons does it have?" Mike asked him.

"It has seven MAC's, thirteen nukes, five N.O.V.A's, and about three-hundred-thousand missiles." Flame said, sounding a little worried.

"Wow, that is a lot of weaponry, i thin i might have to take that ship for my own, Im just gonna have to re-name it though to suite my personality." Mike said.

"Are you serious?" Flame asked Mike.

"Oh, Im dead serious." Mike said to him.

"Alright then its your funeral."

Mike tapped his head. "Immortal, remember?"

Mike detached himself from the wall and landed on the floor. He looked around and noticed that they where in a small hanger. He saw what he was looking for, an exit. His eyes turned half-black and half-blue. He ran to the exit and jumped through, and fired an ice lance towards the opposing ship. He used it to pull himself into its hanger. He looked around and found a guard standing there with his back facing him, Mike silently approached the man and slit his throat with an ice dagger, he caught him and dragged his body out of sight, but he forgot about the blood.

A passing rebel saw the blood and raised the alarm. "Intruder alert." started to blare through the speakers all throughout the ship.

"Damn." Mike said.

("I see an opportunity in this distraction." Velo said to Mike.)

("What do you mean by that?" Mike responded.)

("Well you just killed one dude all you have to do is take his place, then make your way to the bridge and kill the captain and bridge crew, and then the ship is yours." Velo explained.)

("That’s not a bad idea, thanks." mike responded.)

Mike quickly hid the body and pretended to stand at the ready with one of his rifles. A guard walked up to him. "We need more guards on the bridge, is this area secure?" He said.

"One-hundred-ten percent secure, sir." Mike replied.

"Good follow me." He said, he walked off in a corridor and Mike followed. They ran to the bridge as fast as they could. When they reached the door there was already twelve guards there.

"Sorry to inform you but, Im the intruder." Mike whispered into his ear.

"Wha..." the man was cut short as Mike decapitated him. The other guards opened fire on Mike and all the bullets bounced off of him. He turned towards them and made a horizontal cutting motion and a wave of ice shot from his hand killing or mortally wounding them. Mike walked towards the door and opened it; the entire bridge crew heard what happened outside the door and started to fire at Mike. Mike froze a wall of ice in front of him. "DONT STOP FIRING!" Mike heard someone yell from the other side of the wall. Mike made three ice skeletons form from the wall and start attacking the guards and crew. A few moments later and the deck was silent.

"Sir, the bridge is clear, we have the captain." one of the skeletons told Mike. He melted the wall and walked over to where the captain was.

"What do you want from me?" He asked.

"What is your name?" Mike asked him.

"My name is Stillings." Stillings said.

"Well Stillings i am here to take this ship as my own and to eradicate the covenant. Now that you are about to die i have to deal with the crew." He looked at the skeletons.

"Sweep the ship kill any who do not surrender." He told them.

"Yes sir." and they walked off.

"How are you going to kill me and why are you going to kill me?" Stillings asked him.

"I am doing you a favor by killing you; if i turn you over to the UNSC they would interrogate you very painfully, as for how i am going to decapitate you." Mike told him, while making his dagger longer.

Stillings bowed his head. "I am ready." He said.

Mike swung his blade and decapitated him. Stillings's body fell limply to the floor and his head rolled to Mike's feet.

Mike turned and saw Sakuya standing there.

“Did you see me just now kill that man?” Mike asked her.

She nodded her head yes. "Was he the captian?" she asked him.

"Yes he was, you know i would never kill unarmed prisoners." he told her.

"But there was that one time..." her sentance trailed off as she became silent.

"The past is the past, lets move on from that horrible day." he moved over to her to comfort her. He hugged her and she hugged him back, he could tell she was trembling, out of the memory of that day.

Just then the rest of the Razor Backs walked into the bridge. "Awww isnt this a sweet moment." Tim said.

Joker slapped him upside the head. "Show some respect, she is in emotional pain." Joker said.

"How can you tell?" Flame asked him.

"She is very quiet and she is trembling, my geuss horrible memory." He said.

"Your right Joker." she told them all.

"See, told you i know all about what a woman is feeling." He said proudly.

"Oh, then what do i want now?" she asked him.

"Hmmmmmm...you want Mike in a bed, right now." he said.

Sakuya blushed.

"Wow...thats intressting." Mike said.

"Well then...what do we do with him." Tim said pointing to Stillings dead body.

"Can i blow him up?" Joker asked.

"Wow you would ask that." Flame said.

"Well i like to blow stuff up." he responded.

"You can blow him up Joker, his body has no purpose now." Mike told him.

Joker smiled a big toothy grin and walked to his body and dragged it off into another corridor.

As soon as he left five Rebels charged through the bridge door shooting.

Flame pulled out his shotgun and killed two with one shot.

Tim pulled out this medium sized mini-gun and killed another two. The last man managed to shoot Tim in the shoulder.

Mike pulled out his sniper rifle and shot the last man in the forehead without even looking.

Mike's eyes turned green and he healed Tim's wound, then they reverted.

"Thanks." Tim said to Mike.

"No problem dude, its what im good at." Mike told him. He looked at Flame.

"So whats this mission we where going to go do?" he asked him.

"Well there is this planet called Ansgar, it is a frozen planet that has a good strategic posistioning that we must have and half of it is controlled by the UNSC and the other half is controlled by the covenant. We are supposed to help the UNSC take controll of the southern half." He said.

"Well when im working in the cold i cannot be beaten." Mike said.

"Good, we leave as soon as your ready, captian. If you will allow it i would like to navigate." Flame said to Mike.

"I wouldnt have it any other way." Mike said.

Flame walked over to the nav-station.


"I CALL WEAPONS STATION!!!!!" Joker yelled fron down the hall, he ran up to the bridge as fast as he could.

"Wheres the old captian?" Mike asked him.

He was looking at his watch. "Five...Four...Three...Two...One...And if you would all look out side the front view port please." he said.

They all looked and watched as a rather large explosion was seen far from the ship.

"Wow." they all said.

"Joker if you would take your station please." Mike said to him.

"No problem." he walked over to it. "Lets see what this tin can has for weapons." He scrolled through the weapons screen. "Ohhh, captian permission to make an experimentall bomb?" he asked Mike.

"Granted." He said.

"BOOO-YEA!!" he yelled, he bolted through the door and ran to where the N.O.V.A's where stored.

"What can i do?" Tim asked Mike.

"I geuss just stay on the bridge, Honor gaurd." he gave tim the thumbs up signal.

"Ok then." Tim sat on a chair.

"Then we leave as soon as i re-name this ship and frezze us up a crew to work her." He said.
